Midterm de-stress “Paws and Dawgs” event tomorrow

The Titan Success Center and Titan Teams will bring back their annual Paws and Dawgs de-stress event tomorrow, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Titan Success Center. Stop by for a hot dog and refreshments before spending time with therapy dogs in the Honors Lounge. Those interested in meeting the dogs must sign a waiver, which will be available at the event.
HR Director Deborah Schmitt to retire

Deborah Schmitt, Director of Human Resources at IU South Bend, will retire this year from her position of nine years. On March 13, faculty and staff will host a retirement party from 3-4 p.m. in the Alumni room, welcoming any other faculty, staff and students to attend and wish Schmitt a happy retirement. An alumna herself, Schmitt received a BA in Fine Arts from IU South Bend before embarking on a career in HR, eventually returning to campus. Thank you for your service to IU South Bend, Deb!
IU introduces new degree path tracker, Stellic

IU has launched a new tool that will help students and advisers track their degree plan. It includes a “what if” analysis to explore adding a minor or certificate or changing a major. Only IU South Bend and three other regional campuses have Stellic so far, but it will soon be on all campuses. The platform is meant to replace SOAR, the Student Center and the Academic Advisement Report to streamline the advising process. You can log into Stellic from One.IU. Faculty research celebration to be held tomorrow

Tomorrow, March 6, IU South Bend community members are invited to DW 1001 from 2-6 p.m. to celebrate research by IU South Bend faculty published in 2023 and 2024. Publications will be on display, and researchers will present brief talks, concluding with the Research Award Lecture by Andrea Rusnock, IU South Bend art history professor.
Honors Club to host “Party with a Purpose” tomorrow

Tomorrow, March 6, the Honors Club will host their annual service event in Fireside from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing supplies for attendees to make reusable menstrual pads, which will be donated to girls and young women in Malawi with insufficient access to menstrual products. Honors students can receive event or service credit for attending; contact Honors Student Intern Sylvee Freel at [email protected] for more information. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own scissors if possible.
