BREAKING THE STIGMA. On Sept. 30, U Bring Change 2 Mind and Honors Club hosted a Suicide Prevention Awareness night featuring a scavenger hunt to find mental health-positive items, a talk from guest speaker Kent Laudeman – director at United Health Services Suicide Prevention Center – and a group discussion. “The reflection afterwards was also eye-opening, because it allowed students to learn about campus resources and other issues that others may experience,” Jaidyn Medine, UBC2M president, said. “The guest speaker also shared very useful information on suicide resources and was kind enough to share stories of what he and others close to him experienced in times of struggle with suicide or mental health in general.”
