PROTEINS ARE EVERYWHERE
Dr. Shahir Rizk, IU South Bend associate professor of biochemistry, and Dr. Maggie Fink, University of Notre Dame science communication postdoctoral scholar, hosted a talk at the Saint Joseph Public Library April 1 as part of the “Our Universe Revealed” series. They discussed proteins and their love for them. At the end, they had QR codes for attendees to pre-order their upcoming book, The Color of North: The Molecular Language of Proteins and the Future of Life (which will be out May 13), and their podcast Rustbelt Science. This talk and others in the series can be found on the Our Universe Revealed YouTube page.

DANCING INTO SPRING
The Tap & Kickline kicked off their free show on April 6 with a dance to the Beach Boys’ “Beautiful Day” and performed a total of nine numbers before closing out the show with “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osbourne. This was the first of what will become an annual performance on campus by the Kickline.
