IU received over one million dollars in funding from Schnorlock, the Goblin king. The university has also started to be recognized as “Schnorlock University” and all students are required to cite the “Schnorlock pledge” before taking any test or exam. The pledge is supposed to bring students good luck and help their performance, but also pledge allegiance to Schnorlock.
Multiple students have shown discontent towards the university’s decision, some of them choosing to transfer colleges. The main concern comes from the Gnome community who attend IU.
About 10,000 years ago, Schnorlock assassinated the Gnome king with a trident which reassembles the IU logo, possibly being the reason such a large funding was provided to the university.
Stubbs Stumpington is a mining major at IU South Bend and president of the Gnome club.
“I don’t want to pledge allegiance to a killer,” said Stumpington. He also mentioned that IU is not taking into consideration the large Gnome community present on all campuses.
Multiple students have also shown concern through other outlets, like social media. Treyton Stanton was the first person to speak up about this matter on his TikTok.
“We’re going to let this guy that condones the use of black magic outside of rituals to just completely take over our school,” said Stanton in his video. The video also explained the major influence Schnorlock has had on the Indiana house of representatives after forming his Goblin and Ghoul committee.
Students and alumni showed support in the comments section and many of them showed interest in transferring to other colleges.
IU has not made any statements on the subject even after placing new rules. Schnorlock has been seen at multiple events and fundraisers in every IU campus and even shaking President Whitten’s hand.
“The Gnome community won’t go down without a fight!” Stumpington said during a Gnome club meeting held at the Grill.
We tried to get in contact with King Schnorlock but he only provided us with a statement. “All the outlets reporting that I am in any way against the beautiful gnome community are flat out NOT TRUE. I have several gnome friends who thanked me for my funding that is going to be used for the gnome community reaching higher education. In fact, my one gnome friend Berwyn Huggs said that my funding is absolutely beautiful and does wonders for the gnome community.”
THE TIME FOR JUSTICE IS NOW. Keep Schnorlock out of our campus!
