The Titans softball team had a weekend road trip where they played six games, but ultimately were defeated in all six. On Friday, April 16, they played Olivet Nazarene and lost the first game 1-9 and proceeded to lose the second one 1-9 as well. The Titans struggled to rally together hits, collecting only a total of four hits the first game and only three the second game.

On Saturday, April 17, they played Roosevelt and lost the first one 3-0 and followed suit, losing the second one 6-7. The team only collected three hits to the Lakers seven hits, and in the second game collected 10 hits to the Lakers seven hits, but still came up short of one run.

On the final day of the trip, Sunday, April 18, the Titans traveled to Iowa to play Saint Francis, but again could not come out on top for either game. They ended up losing the first game 4-6 despite junior Mackenzie Myars’ two run home run in the first inning.

The Titans then lost the second game 7-11 even though the Titans  came on top in the fourth inning scoring four runs off of Myars’ grand slam and ninth home run of the season. After being up 7-6, they ultimately gave up the lead when they let St. Ambrose scored five in the bottom of the sixth inning and then did not score any runs in the top of the seventh.

After the roadtrip losses, the Titans move to 10-20 overall and 3-11 in conference. The team’s next game is Friday, April 23 at home against Trinity International, and then on Saturday at home for the team’s senior night against Cardinal Stritch. The team then concludes their weekend of games on Sunday against St. Francis at home. Any questions regarding the upcoming season or other information on sports, you can go online to https://iusbtitans.com/.
