The Student Life Awards not only provide awareness and recognition for the achievements students have made across campus, but it also allows one to celebrate alongside peers. They recognize the people who work persistently to pursue the values and vision of IU South Bend.
The Student Government Association looks to highlight some of the people and organizations that have gone above and beyond and have left a mark of distinction on our campus. Small or big, your input deserves to be acknowledged. From categories to the application process, find out below how you can get involved.
There are eight Student Life Awards based on varying criteria including leadership, mentorship, and recognition for educators and students. Anyone may nominate a deserving individual for these awards.
Centellas Student Leader of the Year:
The persistent pursuit of excellence extends beyond the classroom at IU South Bend. The Student Life Awards recognize this individual who has demonstrated commitment in the IU South Bend community through their positive contributions to campus.
Club Member of the Year:
IU South Bend club members have a chance to recognize fellow club members to be recognized for their involvement in that club’s success, development and growth during that current academic year.
Educator of the Year:
This award is designed for exemplary educators who have demonstrated a commitment to preparing students for success in all aspects of their college career. The Student Life Awards acknowledges this individual for their exceptional contributions to the learning environment.
Inclusion Impact Award:
This award is presented annually to a campus member who has made exceptional contributions to promote inclusivity on campus.
Organization Advisor of the Year:
The Student Life Awards recognize a faculty/administrator that has made significant contributions to campus life. This award recognizes an individual who has worked with a student organization to help it achieve its goals as well as mentoring individual members of the club.
Outstanding Student Organization of the Year:
This award honors the student organization that has demonstrated significant efforts to further its purpose to IU South Bend or the community. It recognizes the student organization that has had consistent initiatives, creativity and perseverance through its activities and programs.
Staff/Administrator of the Year:
This recognition award will be given to a staff/administrator for their contribution, tenure or achievements to the college, such as innovative ideas or exemplary performance that benefit these students, other staff and faculty.
Wolfson Senior Legacy Award:
It is the Student Government Association’s honor to recognize the students shaping IU South Bend. This award annually recognizes the senior who has significantly contributed to advance the interests of students at IU South Bend, displays leadership in promoting a more diverse, inclusive campus community for students and who exemplifies the ideals of IU South Bend through outstanding service.
