On Wednesday, August 23, the IU South Bend Residence Hall Association (RHA) hosted the annual Titan Splash Color Run as one of the events available for students during welcome week.
Any student who wanted to participate in the run was welcome to, and registered as they arrived at the event. The distance of the run was approximately one mile.
The run was hosted outside of housing. After the race, there was a cookout for runners, staff, and attendees. There were a few tables for organizations and clubs featured along the paths of the race, such as Girls on the Run and the Philosophy Club, where students could stop and learn more about these specific organizations.

Students Marshanea Morris and Faith Allard were two of many students who participated in the run. The event was set up so that experienced and non-experienced runners could participate.
For Allard, this was her second year running.
“I did it last year. I love to run, and the color makes it even more exciting,” stated Allard.
When asked about the experience, Morris, who does not typically enjoy running, explained why she decided to participate and how the run itself felt.

“It was a fun activity, and I have always wanted to do a color run but never did before. When I found out they were having one at school, I asked my friends to join me. It was not too long of a run. The experience was more fun because you worked to get to each color station,” explained Morris.
