On April 16, IU South Bend celebrated its student athletes at the annual Titan Athletic Awards Banquet. The event recognized athletes’ dedication, perseverance and achievements across all sports programs.
Athletic Director Scott Cooper opened the evening by highlighting the balance between academic and athletic commitments. “Our student-athletes exemplify what it means to be a Titan—dedicated in the classroom and relentless on the field,” he remarked.
The banquet also celebrated notable athletic accomplishments. In men’s basketball, junior forward Nick Mullen was honored for earning First Team All-CCAC honors and being named the CCAC Defensive Player of the Year. Senior wing Jylen Petty received recognition for his Second Team All-CCAC selection, while senior point guard Quentez Columbus was acknowledged with an Honorable Mention All-CCAC. Freshman forward Collin Schmidt was celebrated for his inclusion in the CCAC All-Freshman Team.
Each team presented awards to their most valuable players, most improved athletes and those demonstrating exceptional leadership. Coaches shared heartfelt stories, emphasizing the growth and resilience of their teams throughout the season.
As the evening concluded, Cooper encouraged all athletes to carry forward the spirit of excellence. “Let tonight’s recognition inspire you to reach even greater heights in your athletic and academic pursuits,” he said.
The 2025 Titan Athletic Awards Banquet not only celebrated past achievements but also set the tone for future successes, reinforcing the university’s commitment to fostering well-rounded student athletes.
