Welcome back to another week of Sip & Study and another adventure to local coffee shops in the surrounding area. Recently, I drove to Plymouth to visit a shop I have never been to before.
The cafe I visited is Ivy Terra Plant Cafe located at 113 E Laporte St. This place has been one of my favorite discoveries, as I didn’t expect to find something so unique in such a small town.
The inside is full of plants with a green interior. The cafe sells both coffee and tons of different plants covering the space as stated in the name. There are also various other items being sold by local or smaller artists, which I found to be pretty cool.
Ivy Terra has some fun fall drinks, and the menu also has some food as well. I really appreciated the creativity of the drinks on the menu overall, including drinks such as a butterscotch latte with marshmallow cold foam, a sticky bun latte or the honeycomb latte. I ordered a waffle latte with oat milk and a cheese bagel with cream cheese, which were both very good.
One unique part of Ivy Terra’s menu is that the menu features lotus drinks, which are plant based energy drinks made from lotus flower. The lotus drinks are a kind of tea with similar caffeine to coffee and are generally made iced. The staff let me try a few small samples that were all super tasty. I’d really like to get a full size lotus drink next time I visit.
I do wish there was a bit more seating, and I feel that it’s more of a hangout spot than a study spot since it’s a smaller shop. I would still really love to go back though because the staff were so kind and friendly, and the atmosphere itself was phenomenal. If you’re a plant lover and looking for some place unique, definitely go check this place out!
