The former location of IU South Bend’s bookstore in Northside Hall will soon be home to an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.

The center will provide support and connect innovation and entrepreneurship throughout all majors. Building partnerships and providing students with a variety of resources will be a focus of this new addition.

This space will offer a program available to all students, which will focus on creating a culture for innovation and entrepreneurship on campus. IU South Bend will be advancing innovation and entrepreneurship programs on campus thanks to a $2 million gift.

The center will also be a campus headquarters for the North Central Indiana Small Business Development Center, which is already hosted on campus by IU South Bend. The Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) provides confidential, free advising and training to help small businesses grow.

The ISBDC has 10 regional offices and has helped over 50,000 entrepreneurs and small businesses.

There is also a survey soliciting opinions about what features students would like to see in the center. All IU South Bend students may take the survey, which can be found at the QR code attached, regardless of major.

“The search is also underway for a Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship,” Elizabeth Paice, IU South Bend’s Chief of Staff, stated. “Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project gets underway.”
