Mark your calendar for April 10 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. You’ll be busy in the University Grill enjoying mocktails and painting in a fairy-themed oasis with the Queer Straight Alliance and the Art Club.
The QSA collaborated with the Art Club to create an event centered around creativity and relaxation. Among the mocktail options, there will be three available drinks to choose from These include a Shirley Temple, Roy Rogers or Virgin Mimosa, all of which conveniently pair well with cookies which will also be available.
Painting materials will be provided for the event. While there will be no guided painting tutorial for attendees to follow, QR codes with inspiration will be placed on each table.
Reagan Ayala, QSA president, said the group was looking for new ways to bring an event to campus at this time of the semester.
“Events that are designed for people to relax are incredibly important on our campus,” Ayala said. “These events allow people to take a break, relax and cool down.”
Ayala noted that the end of the semester is an incredibly stressful time for most students, and that campus events that encourage relaxation and creativity are a great way to take a break from studies.
If the excuse to take a break from studying to enjoy mocktails and make some art wasn’t a good enough reason for you to mark your calendar, the event also has a mystical theme. Channel your inner fairy and wear your most whimsical attire as you enjoy a sweet drink with some sweet people.
