On Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. EST, U.S. President Joe Biden will deliver the annual State of the Union address to Congress. The purpose of the State of the Union address is for the president to meet with Congress to provide an outline of the presidential administration’s goals, as well as updates on the nation. These updates could include discussing foreign and domestic affairs, as well as issues that are currently prevalent within the United States.
Citizens of the United States are curious to hear the updates President Joe Biden will provide.
Looking back on significant issues that became more apparent within the past year, President Biden may discuss inflation, the war in Ukraine, and gun violence.
Suppose you are interested in watching the State of the Union address. In that case, the American Democracy Project here at IU South Bend is hosting a watch party on the night of the address, starting at 8:30 p.m. in the community building located in River Crossing student housing.
There will be pizza provided, as well as a chance to sharpen your knowledge of politics with a game of political bingo. Additionally, if you attend, you are encouraged to stay to participate in an informative discussion.
If you have any questions regarding the watch party, you can contact the American Democracy Project via email at IUSBADP@iusb.edu, via Twitter @ADPIUSB or via Instagram @IUSBADP.
