Are you in need of some holiday cheer as finals season comes to an end? If so, The Raclin Holiday Sock Hop is here to spread joy to all in the Michiana community!
This year the holiday tradition will be held on the IU South Bend campus on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Northside Hall Auditorium.
The event will include performances from the IU South Bend Choirs, the IU South Bend Jazz Ensemble and the Tap and Kick Line. Additionally, there will be special guest performers from local area high schools such as Clay, St. Joseph, New Prairie, Penn, Adams and Niles.
“The annual holiday celebration is always an opportunity for the Raclin School to help our friends and neighbors connect with charitable organizations serving the Michiana community and this year is no exception,” states the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts on its events webpage. “This year we are partnering with St. Vincent de Paul Society.”
Tickets for the event are available for purchase, or you can bring one or more items for donation. Items that can be donated include shampoo, soap, body wash, hairbrushes, combs, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body lotion, feminine hygiene products and non-perishable or canned food items.
Guests are invited to join a winter wonderland in the lobby where they can take pictures and enjoy some hot cocoa after the event.
