Do you want to be a part of IU history and work with IU leadership to shape the university’s future? If so, apply to be a student trustee!

“The board is made up of nine trustees, and its business is overseen by six officers. Three trustees are elected by alumni, and the remainder are appointed by Indiana’s governor,” the IU Board of Trustees informational page says.

To apply for the board, you must be a full-time student during the position’s two-year tenure. Additionally, you must be able to verify that you will have sufficient time to take on the responsibilities of serving on the board without it negatively affecting your academic performance.

If you are an undergraduate who anticipates graduation during the term, you must be able to document serious intent to graduate. This may include copies of formal applications, proof of completion of required exams, a letter of intent or a letter of acceptance into a program.

When applying, you will need to prepare several short personal statements, a current resume and at least one letter of recommendation. Applications for the 2023-2025 term are due by Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.

For more information and to access the application, visit trustees.iu.edu.
