My name is Kristyn or Kris, and I am a junior at IU South Bend. I am a drawing and painting major, and I am also working towards getting a minor in printmaking. I really enjoy creating semi-realistic and illustrative works of art that have a unique narrative to them. I hope to make art for a living, have my own online store and table at local festivals. I post my art on Instagram @kriskayart.
I joined The Preface because I thought it would be a fun way to explore creatively as well as connect with the IU South Bend community. I plan on making coloring pages and other fun paper activities. Feel free to reach out if you have any suggestions or requests for activities!
I am a true creative at heart and enjoy learning and practicing many different types of crafts. From crochet to woodworking, I enjoy it all. I also love spending time with my Great Dane, Milo, named after the character from the movie Atlantis. Even with a busy schedule I still find time to hang out with my best friends from high school and my two sisters.
A few other fun things about me… I am a Capricorn and a middle child; I was born full of surprises. I enjoy horror films and good cinematography. My comfort films are Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Dune and The Hunger Games series. My favorite TV shows are Gravity Falls and Over the Garden Wall. I love music – my favorite artists are Jamie Bower, Gorillaz, Aurora, Tamino and Måneskin. Lastly, I enjoy video games, but I’m not good at them so I stick to watching playthroughs online!
