Hello everyone! My name is Nawal Samdani, and I am so excited to work for The Preface this semester! I’ve only been working for a few weeks and I already love it. I joined The Preface so I can be more involved on campus and meet more people. So far, I’ve met some amazing people through and hope to meet more in the future. I also enjoy writing so this job is the perfect fit for me.
I am from Pakistan, but I was born in Texas and raised in Indiana. I commute from Granger.
I am currently a sophomore working towards a B.S. in Biological Sciences. After my third major change, I recognized my passion for science and math which led me to believe this was the major for me.
After graduation, I hope to go to graduate school to become a healthcare professional. I would like to go to either medical school or dental school.
While writing for The Preface and going to school full time, I volunteer 3 days a week at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. This is the unit where patients are temporarily admitted from any surgical procedure. I have seen some pretty cool cases and have been able to observe brain surgery while volunteering here.
I enjoy spending my free time with my friends & family, reading and baking. I also recently got into henna art. I am eager to get more involved on campus and write more stories!
