You may be surprised to learn that IU South Bend has a club dedicated to math. And, now that you know, you may be wondering what exactly they do!

The Math Club at IU South Bend is where students who are interested in math can meet people who are also interested in math. They meet on the third Thursday of every month from 6 to 8 p.m. in NS 310, where math tutoring also takes place. If anyone needs math tutoring, in-person tutoring is held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and tutoring over Zoom is offered from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m..

Math Club does activities that involve both math and fun. This includes playing trading-card games like Magic the Gathering, playing games that involve dice and solving math riddles.

Anyone is welcome to join, regardless of their major or their skill in mathematics.

“Being interested in math is all that’s required to join,” President Genevieve Mathews said.

With any questions, you can contact the Math Club through their Titan Atlas page. Another way to contact them is to email faculty adviser Kyle Schwieterman at kschwiet@iusb.edu.
