The IU South Bend German Club will be hosting a dinner at Weiss’ Gasthaus German restaurant in Roseland, Indiana, on April 7. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will last approximately two hours.

“Before COVID, the IU South Bend German Club dinner at Weiss’ Gasthaus was an annual event,” said Dr. Jeffrey Luppes, World Languages Studies Department Chair. “We’re relaunching it in an effort to revitalize the German Program and rejuvenate the community of friends of the German Program that existed before the pandemic, but which has been dormant the past couple of years.”

This event will provide an opportunity to experience genuine German culture and food in Indiana.

“The food and drink are very authentic and taste wunderbar” said Dr. Luppes.

At the height of the German Club program, the dinner event drew as many as 50 participants, including students, faculty, staff and friends and family. All are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.

Some of the menu items include pretzels, schnitzel, various wursts, spaetzle, and many other options. For more information about the menu, visit the Weiss’ Gasthaus Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WeissGastHaus.

Weiss’ Gasthaus is located at 115 N Dixie Way, Roseland, IN 46637. Contact Dr. Luppes with any questions about the event.

The IU South Bend German Club hopes to see you there!
