Books for a buck: Library sale open now

By: Mira Costello

After taking a few years off from their annual book sale, Schurz Library is now hosting an open daily sale that students can check out whenever the library is open. All items are $1 and can be purchased on a cash-and-carry basis.

The sale items – which include fiction, nonfiction, and reference books, CDs and DVDs – can be found in the Media Commons on the first floor of the library, located near the circulation desk to the left of the library entrance.

This week, selections like “Catch-22” by Joseph Heller, “Other People’s Trades” by Primo Levi, and “Madame Bovary” by Gustave Flaubert were available. Language references, reading and writing textbooks, and even a book on how to raise house plants also lined the shelves. The collection will be refreshed each week of the sale, so be sure to stop by whenever you’re in the library.
