IU South Bend is home to remarkable leaders, past, present and future. Several notable community members, alumni, and a former employee will be welcomed to campus on March 30 in honor of Women’s History Month. All of these distinguished guests are women in leadership roles, and they will participate in a panel for students, faculty, staff and community members, hosted by Chancellor Susan Elrod.

This celebratory event will be held in Student Activities Center rooms 221-225 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. The celebration will be accompanied by light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.

Panelists will share their personal journeys, describe the role of education in their paths and offer advice for those interested in leadership positions.

Panelists featured include alumna Regina Emberton, CEO of ChoiceLight Inc., Rebecca Richards, tribal chair of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, alumna Loretta Schmitt, chief nursing officer of Saint Joseph Health System, Lety Stanton-Verduzco, director of mission integration for the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County, and Karen White, vice president of the South Bend Common Council.

Join Chancellor Elrod in welcoming these remarkable leaders to campus as IU South Bend facilitates a safe space to encourage present and future women in leadership roles.
