Looking to add a new furry friend to your family? Consider adopting one of these pets currently being housed at the Humane Society of Elkhart County. Love animals, but aren’t able to take one in right now? The HSEC is also looking for volunteers and full-time employees to help tend to the responsibilities at the shelter. For more information on how to get involved, visit https://elkharthumanesociety.org/employment.
Living with Angel is heaven on earth. This sweet kitty is thirteen years old, deeming her a “regal resident” of the shelter. Regal residents are senior animals that are wiser, sweeter and have their adoption fees waived. Angel would do best in a family of adults where her quiet and gentle nature will be appreciated.
Rizzo is a beautiful terrier and pitbull mix with a playful spirit. This two-year-old boy has a lot of energy and a lot of love to give to his next family. Rizzo enjoys a variety of activities, including playing in water and trying agility. Because of his active nature, Rizzo needs a home without small children or other dogs, and with people who will be patient with him while he learns how to feel safe when home alone.
Open your heart up to Zane, a four year old shepherd mix who is looking for a family who will love him while he is on the road to recovery. For a long time, Zane used to live alone on the streets where he contracted heartworm. Thanks to the wonderful care of the staff at the HSEC, Zane is on the mend and is now just looking for a family who will be patient with him as he finishes treatment. The staff are happy to help educate any potential adopters of how to care for his needs and ensure he has the best life possible.
A very kind person decided to sponsor both Rizzo and Zane’s adoption fees.
