What’s happening at IU South Bend this week?

   Are you wanting to get involved more at IU South Bend? There are a variety of events happening this week for you to join the fun.

   Interested in overpopulation and poverty? Join the Political Science Club for a reading and discussion on Johnathon Swift’s essay, “A Modest Proposal”. The discussion will be held on Feb. 17 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Club Room (SAC 206).

   Do you love playing board and card games? Everyone is welcome to join in a game night with the Gamers Guild. They are meeting on Feb. 18 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the SAC rooms 223 and 225.

   The Student Government Association will be having their weekly meeting on Feb. 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the SAC room 221 or over zoom with your Indiana University credentials at https://iu.zoom.us/j/87438068290. All are welcome to attend including the public.

   IU South Bend Honors is hosting a Winter Walk to raise awareness and money for St. Margaret’s House in South Bend. St. Margaret’s House provides support to the women and children in the community by providing many items like free meals, children’s summer programs and much more.    The Student Nurses Association will be hosting this month’s meeting on Feb. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SAC 225.

   Interested in spoken word? Join the Office of Student Life, Titan Productions and the Civil Rights Heritage Center on Feb. 22 for a night of spoken word with artist Jon Goode. This event will be held at the Housing Community Building from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m..

   Want to enjoy the winter weather? Join the IU South Bend Honors for an evening of ice skating at Howard Park from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.. Park admission and skate rental will be free to attendees. Spots are limited for this night so RSVP on Titan Atlas.

   Need to focus on studying during the busy semester? IU South Bend Honors is hosting study tables for honors students. This event will be held on Feb. 23 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Students who want to earn an event credit need to stay for at least one hour and 15 minutes.
