Do not miss out on the rare opportunity to get headshot photos taken on campus for free. The photographer will be at IU South Bend on Tuesday, Feb. 1 and Wednesday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in room 114 in the Administration building, and Wednesday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Fireside A.

Headshot photos are high quality images in good lighting that can be used for a wide number of reasons, but are particularly useful for business ventures. Typically a customer might pay upwards of a few hundred dollars to get professional portrait shots done, which is why the opportunity to receive them at no cost to students is so valuable. The appointment takes less than ten minutes, and there are plenty of times still available for students to go at their convenience.

A headshot portrait is a great addition to resumes and professional websites because they make an impression upon potential employers or clients. Additionally, headshots are often used for profile pictures on LinkedIn, which is a great platform for anyone looking to find a job or network with other professionals.

When a candidate for a job has headshot photos done by a professional photographer, it shows the hiring committee that the candidate is highly invested in their career and reputation. It only takes a few seconds to make a lasting impression on someone. In a highly competitive field, a portrait photo might be the factor that makes someone more memorable than the other applicants.

When going to get headshot photos taken, it is important that students look presentable and dress nicely to portray themselves as professionals. Avoid wearing sweatshirts, t-shirts and any garment with graphics or noticeable branding to the appointment. Students should also choose colors and patterns that are flattering on them without being too distracting.

Students should visit https://bit.ly/ai104 to secure a spot with the photographer on a day and time of their choosing. Contact the Career Services Office at sbcareer@iusb.edu for any further details or questions.
