South Bend is home to some of the most unique small businesses that offer one-of-a-kind experiences for residents and visitors to enjoy. From local restaurants to small boutiques, South Bend has adventures waiting for everyone.

Zen Café, or Kodachrome Coffee, is a local gem for studying, socializing and grabbing some caffeine. Located across from the Saint Joseph Catholic Church on E Lasalle Ave, the relaxing spot is in a prime location for a Sunday recharge or a weekday coffee stop.

The E Lasalle Zen Café location was founded in 2010 and has remained a local hangout ever since. The low music and calm décor allow for a peaceful visit, making it a perfect stop in-between midday classes.

While visiting for the first time, I tried a vanilla latte with oat milk and instantly found a new favorite. The various seating arrangements include high bars and stools, low chairs and tables, free wifi and plenty of space to get work done.

A large variety of drink options include lattes, Americanos, cappuccinos and espresso. For non-coffee drinkers, teas and hot chocolate join the menu, as well as muffins, making the location perfect for anybody of any age.

Making a stop at this local business is a must-do for anybody in the area looking for a place to relax. Packaged coffee is also available for purchase for those who want to bring the specially-sourced coffee home.
