The Indiana University South Bend volleyball team prepares to host fifth ranked St. Ambrose on Tuesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. for the first round of the CCAC tournament.

The Titans finished their season on a high note sweeping Roosevelt and Calumet St. Joseph last week to improve to 12-5 on the season. IU South Bend has only dropped one home game which was also the first match of the season where they fell to St. Ambrose 1-3. Tuesday’s game will be the first time the two teams have met since they lost.

IU South Bend has the momentum they need going into Tuesday’s game after easily defeating the Crimson Wave of Calumet St. Joseph in their last game of the regular season. IU South Bend beat CCSJ in every category outdoing them 43-24 in kills, 5-1 in blocks, 40-24 in assists, 53-43 in digs and a slight 3-2 advantage in aces.

The Titans are led offensively by Hannah Marchand (254 kills, 16 aces) and Julie Brown (163 kills) who registered the most kills on the team with the best attacking percentage. Both seniors also have 52 blocks to their name and McKenzie Powell leads the team in assists with 618. Leading the team defensively is libero Whitney Gessinger with 218 digs, with Amber Jacobs right behind her with 207 digs of her own.

Tuesday’s game will be closed to everyone except for volleyball family members. The game can still be viewed through the livestream that can be found on the volleyball schedule on the Titan’s athletic page. Stay up to date on scores by checking out IUSBTitans.com.
