Titans baseball has continued to shut down their competition, especially those in their conference. The team has a current record, as of April 4, of 9-4 in conference and are looking to continue this path.
The team faced St. Francis on April 2 and beat them with a 9-4 victory. Defense was led by sophomore Zack Dobos who clutched his third win of the season and picked up six strikeouts along the way.
Offense from the Titans relied on each batter in the lineup to continue rallying hits and runs to push nine runners across the board. Sophomore Logan Smith had four appearances at the plate with four hits, two runs and one RBI. Sophomore Jared Bias also collected four at bats, two hits, one run and one RBI. Junior Nolan Unger reached four at bats and had two hits, one run, and one RBI. Junior Colin Mack reached the plate four times as well, collecting two hits, one run and one RBI.
The team as a whole collected nine runs off ten hits and only had one defensive error, holding down their competitor with four runs off nine hits and a total of six errors.
Following their win, the team faced St. Francis again, winning the first game 12-6 giving junior Robbie Berger the win, giving him a now 3-3 record on the mound. They then played their third and final game of the series but came up short with a 5-6 loss, giving senior Brooks Dehn a loss.
The Titans look to continue their winning record in conference against Olivet Nazarene with game one on April 9, and then following with game two and three on April 10.
