IU South Bend men and women’s golf finished up two invitationals last week leaving them with only two left before preparing for the conference tournament. After the men’s placed ninth out of ten teams, senior player Nick Hayden was hopeful for the rest of the season saying they will be better once they get some matches under their belt.

The men placed eighth out of eight teams in the LTU Heritage Hill Invitational which was only the second invite for the team. After playing two rounds over the course of two days, the team immediately headed to Old Hickory, Tenn. to play in the LTU Hermitage Invitational. On the first day, March 23, IU South Bend men placed their best of the season so far placing seventh out of ten teams. On day two, the men place eighth out of the ten total teams.

Women placed tenth out of ten teams at the LTU Heritage Hill in Shepardsville, Ky. The women have the LTU Spring Invitational at Silvis, Ill. and the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational at Noblesville, Ind. before preparing for the CCAC Tournament that begins on Sunday, April 25.

Both teams look forward to competing in the conference tournament since last year’s tourney was canceled due to COVID-19. Last time the Titans played in the CCAC Tournament was during the 2018-19 season where the men placed last placed both days. The women placed seventh out of nine teams the first day and eighth out of nine teams the second day.
