I am Taylor Hill, some people call me Tea. I am a journalism major here at IU South Bend. I grew up in South Bend, but I lived in Illinois after high school and went to the College of DuPage for a few semesters.

Originally, I planned on majoring in film and writing for TV. However, I ended up taking my love of writing into nonfiction instead. I interned at The Preface last semester and am now on staff this semester.

I enjoy writing about social hot topics, such as feminism, gun control, sustainability, LGBTQ+ rights, and promoting diversity. I am passionate about a lot of subjects, but I prefer not talking about myself.

I would much rather talk about my cats, the apples of my eye, lights of my life, Krispy and Squid (Krispy is the one in the picture). Squid is super silly and likes to be involved in every activity I do, including cooking, laundry, and showering.

Krispy is more reserved and prefers to quietly lounge in the sun. Krispy is also a TV snob and will only sit with me to watch documentaries and crime dramas. He hates cartoons and teen fantasy.

As well as school I also work at both Unity Gardens and the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Mishawaka. I have had too many jobs including bookseller, Starbucks barista, waitress, deli clerk, nail technician, and funeral attendant.

In my free time, I like to read, watch TV, listen to podcasts, play Dungeons and Dragons, embroider, and go hiking when I can.

I collect Furbies, and I have a bit of a fondness for spooky and unusual things. I definitely believe in ghosts, partially because it’s more fun to believe than it is to be a skeptic. If you see me around campus straight up come tell me about your supernatural encounters.
