I began attending IU South Bend in the fall of 2016 after graduating from Clay High School of South Bend. I am currently majoring in Mass Communication with a focus in Journalism.

After gaining experience in radio in television through courses while attending high school, I decided that I wanted a future in journalism.

Although I love writing and creating stories, I leaned more toward radio after having my own show on the only student ran station in South Bend while attending high school. I have always loved reading and creative writing.

As a full-time employee and student since I was 16 years old, I wanted to attend a University that I could balance into my lifestyle. While wanting to stay near family members, and continuing to work, I decided that IU South Bend and the Mass Communication department would be perfect for me.

While building through my college career, I have maintained creating a vision for my future. I love basketball, music, video games, my pets, and spending time with close family and friends.

I began writing with The Preface team as an intern in Spring 2018, which has been an opportunity that allowed my journalism skills to grow.

Prior to working for The Preface, I had no experience writing for a newspaper. I am currently a senior with no idea where the career of journalism will take me, although I know that I have found a passion for writing and storytelling. I look forward to my remaining time at IU South Bend and what may be in store for me after completing my degree!
