IU South Bend’s University Information Technology Services (UITS) hosted their annual Game On event on Wednesday, September 11 at Firesides A and B. The event took place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The event included video game battles, virtual reality experiences provided by the UITS of IU Bloomington, free food, and various UITS tables that provided information and announcements with IU tech.

One announcement provided by UITS at the Game On event was the introduction to Eduroam, the new secure wireless network that will come to IU campuses while replacing IU secure in January 2020 in hopes of bringing faster WIFI to campuses.

UITS employee Jacob Harry has been involved in the event since it began.

“I’ve been doing this event for a few years since it started. It is a good way of getting new students to come out and get involved in technology. I don’t usually play newer games, although I am an original 70s gamer” explained Harry.

This event allowed students and staff to take their minds off academics and their workload and socialize with fellow members of the IU South Bend community. Did you attend the event?
