As the spring semester winds up, we are heading towards graduation, which means my time with The Preface, and my time in college will be at an end. Going in to college I had no idea what my plan was, I changed my major 3 times, and still was not sure about my final choice.
Then I ended up in my first journalism class and changed the direction of my college career one last time to focus on journalism. I enjoyed the classes so much and all of the great people I met throughout my years at IUSB.
After getting into journalism the idea of being an intern with The Preface was brought to my attention, however I never went for it as I worked full-time and didn’t think I would be able to make it work with my schedule.
This brings us up to the very last semester in my senior year. I had saved a number of electives for the end to cushion my last semester, so I had some wiggle room in my schedule. I finally decided I could make it work to join The Preface and I did.
Joining The Preface was easily one of the best decisions I have made in college, you get real world experience, you learn things in a practical, hands on way and you get to work with some really awesome people.
The only regret I have is not working hard enough to join The Preface sooner, the experiences I’ve had and the friends and memories I have made will stick with me long after I leave college.
Lastly, I want to thank all of the great friends, professors, my awesome advisor, family, and everyone else who has been with me and supported me along the long journey of my college career.
