A Crime Notice was dispersed to members of the IU South Bend community on Friday, April 6 just after 10 p.m.
The notice read that “On April 5, 2019 the IUPD received a report of a rape at approximately 6:00 p.m. The incident occurred in the late night hours of April 4, 2019 or in the early morning hours of April 5, 2019.”
The report states that the incident occurred in River Crossing Student Housing at the IU South Bend campus, “in a student’s room.”
The suspect is reportedly an “acquaintance of the victim’s friend.”
The Crime Notice was released in compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure for Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
The report asks for anyone with information about this, or other crimes, to call the IU Police Department’s South Bend Campus number at (574) 520-4239.
