The Titan’s baseball team dropped both games in their double header against the Shawnee State University Bears, losing 4-2 and then 7-2. This makes it their fourth straight loss pushing their record to 1-7.

The lackluster hitting performance led to both losses for the Titans, scoring only two runs in each game. This has been a major problem all season considering the Titans have scored more than two runs in only one game.

The first game got off to a good start for the Titans. In the top of the first, Jordan Moore hit a single to the right scoring Spencer McCool. However, the Bears answered back in the bottom of the second scoring off their own single.

The game was blown open in the bottom of the sixth when the Bears scored three runs off of a total of five hits in the inning. The Titans couldn’t muster up any offense to come back.

Similar to the first game it would be one big inning for the Bears that would give them enough for the win. Again, the Titans scored first in the top of the second off a Tyler Reece single scoring Jordan Moore.

In the bottom of the third, the Bears made a statement exploding for six runs on six hits. The Titans were able to score only once after that in an effort to comeback but eventually lost, concluding the double header.
