In a double header against the Taylor University Trojans, the Titans got their first win of the season by the score 2-0. The Titans lost the first game of the double header 8-4. The win snapped a six-game losing streak to the Trojans.

The victory was sparked by great pitching from Andy Ross who got the start on the mound. He pitched a complete game only allowing five hits.

In the fourth inning, the Titans scored the first run of the game when the Logan Young hit a single, scoring TJ Deherrera.

An error from the Trojans in the sixth inning scored a run from Devon Conners making it 2-0.

That’s all the Titans would need to win a game after an excellent night from Ross.

The Titans in their win allowed only five hits with zero errors. The Trojans also allowed five hits with four errors.

The Titans started out well in their loss of the day scoring the first two runs. The Titans put up the first score from Colin Mack after Deherrera grounded out at first. The second score came in the third inning from Spencer McCool after Deherrera hit a single to the right.

The Trojans came back to tie in the fourth inning scoring a run from a sacrifice fly and then shortly after hitting a double, scoring another runner.

In the fifth, the Trojans started opening things up after a two-run homerun.

The Trojans shut out any possibility of the Titans making a comeback of their own after the Trojans put up four scores in the eighth inning.

It was a tough pitching game for the Titans in which they allowed 14 hits and also gave up three errors.  The Trojans gave up six hits in comparison with three errors. Troy Cullen received the loss for the game.
