The IU South Bend volleyball team traveled out to Palos Heights, Illinois, on Sept. 11, to face the Trinity Christian College Trolls. The Titans looked to continue the small momentum they had from their last win, in what has mostly been a disappointing season.

The game got off to a good start for the Titans with a 5-0 lead. As the set progressed the Titans would slowly let their lead diminish before the Trolls tied it up, 17-17.

After multiple attack errors by the Titans, the Trolls took the lead 21-18. With the set on the line the Titans pushed back with a run of their own. Sarah Allison would come up big for the Titans with two kills in a row, winning the set for the Titans, 25-23.

The second set did not start off well for the Titans with a 4-1 deficit early on. From there on the Trolls controlled momentum throughout the set.

The Titans made an effort early in the set tying it 9-9. Although the Trolls quickly went on a 5-0 run to put themselves comfortably in the lead. The Trolls ended up taking the second set 25-19. Errors were a focal point in the second set with the Titans having 6 compared to just 2 for the Trolls.

In the third set, the Titans once again get off to a slow start going down 9-3. The Trolls would carry that lead throughout the set going up 22 to 13 at one point.

The Titans rallied back coming within two points late in the set down 24-22. However the deficit would be too much overcome. Titans lost the third set, 25-22.

Down 2 sets to 1, the Titans needed to win the fourth set to keep the game alive. Unfortunately the fourth set would be the worst for the Titans losing by a 10 point differential.

In the fourth set, the Titans would lead 3-2 early but from there it was all Trolls.  The Titans never gained the lead back and would lose 25 to 15. Kills played a big factor in the fourth set with 16 kills for the Trolls compared to the Titans 6.
