The IU South Bend Political Science Club and the American Democracy Project will host the second annual Democracy Plaza! Constitution Day celebration on campus on Monday, September 17. The second annual Democracy Plaza! Constitution Day celebration will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to complete Constitution-themed games and puzzles to earn free popcorn and nachos. Participants will have the opportunity to also obtain a free pocket Constitution, as well as check out The Political Science Club’s and The American Democracy Project’s upcoming events.
This event is the first in a series of events ending on November 6, a portion of the American Democracy Project’s Election 2018 Engagement Series.
“The series includes six key components: voter registration, citizen education and deliberation, non-partisan political debates, non-partisan voter information and candidate guides, poll worker recruitment and training and a student-focused, non-partisan get-out-and-vote campaign,” the abstract of the Election Engagement Grant said, provided by Elizabeth Bennion, professor of political science and campus director of the American Democracy Project.
