Vice Chancellor: Child Development Center could reopen

Staff Writer

Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Jann Joseph spoke to SGA about the possible reopening of the Early Child Development Center.

Joseph said that if the center was to open again, money might be needed from the Student Activities Fund to make it happen. This would not be a small amount of money Scott Strittmatter, director of Student Life, said.

Joseph also wanted to tie in the strength of IUSB’s academics with the idea. Bringing in elementary education, music, and business majors could bring real world experience and academic gains for the children in the center.

However, this could make the center more affordable for IUSB students, who were not using this resource, according to Joseph, due to how expensive it was.
