I’m a senior journalism major with a minor in new media. My time at IUSB actually started with the Leadership Academy the summer before my first semester of college. It was a fun but busy summer as I learned my way around campus, made connections with both students and faculty, and discovered the time and effort college required.
I was one of the many students to help Professor Yoshiko Green and the Japanese club with their Asian Heritage Festival during my freshman year. Also, during the second semester of freshman year I became a founding member of the Communication Studies Club, which I enjoyed until the end of my first semester of my sophomore year.
Since then, my time on campus has been limited to classes. When I’m not at school I spend my time in my room. I enjoy drawing and creative writing in my spare time. If I’m not creating my own stories, I’m enjoying some else’s. Whether it’s a novel or a comic book, a television show or movie, or a video game, a lot of my time revolves around fiction. However, I only watch comic book shows and movies, so this trend of them being everywhere better end in my lifetime.
When I want to take a break from stories I turn to YouTube. I have a number of creators that I enjoy, like Kinda Funny, Draw with Jazza, or Linus Tech Tips. Finally, I would like to thank Yuri Obata, for her assignment of going without my favorite media for two weeks. This rekindled my love of music since YouTube was out of the question. BEYOND!
