IU South Bend’s men’s basketball team faced the University of Akron-Wayne Warriors in their home territory on Nov. 4. The Warriors travelled four and a half hours, from Orrville, Ohio, to play the Titans.

After losing to IU East on Halloween, the Titans were able to get a winning streak going again. The Titans led the scoreboard for the entire game, defeating the Warriors 112-81. This game brought the Titans to 3-1 on the season, while the Warriors’ record decreased to 0-3.

Senior Avery Harmon led the Titans with 20 points and five rebounds. Freshman Phil Corthen followed right behind with 19 points. Junior T.J. Benner had 15 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Myluv Sutton and junior Taylor Brooks each added 12 points. Brooks also added 11 rebounds. Sophomore Rashaan Jackson scored nine points and had four rebounds. Junior Matt Bullinger and freshman Alex Harmon added six points each. Harmon had five rebounds as well.

For the Warriors, sophomore Ci’Andre Johnson-Lollar scored a game-high 22 points and had 12 rebounds. Freshman Kevin Gainer and senior Anthony Keys each added 13 points. Freshman Brandon Taylor-Mitchell had 12 points and seven rebounds. Junior Chase Infield scored six points and had six rebounds.

The Titans will travel to Orrville to play the Warriors for a second time on Dec 28. The Titans will play their next game at home against Wright-State Lake on Saturday, Nov. 12.
