Halloween is fast approaching! And while you’re probably all busy getting your costume and party plans together, let’s not forget that IUSB has some excellent events planned in the days ahead—events that are open to students and community members more broadly.

This season, Spirit Week and Boo To You are being combined, an exciting first at IUSB. Previously, Spirit Week was scheduled in the first week of October, but as per student requests, the two events were consolidated to create one fun-filled week teeming with Halloween Spirit.

FREE FOOD AND FREE CANDY!! Okay, I wanted to keep your attention before you stopped reading. All of the events listed will provide some form of sustenance, be it snacks, drinks or candy. So if anything, go for the free food. Unfortunately, alcoholic beverages will not be served. But hey, who needs booze to have fun anyways?

Ok, here we go:

9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Thursday, Oct 27
Community Building at River Crossing Apartments
– A Halloween dance sponsored by RHA. Be sure to dress in your creepiest, sexiest, silliest or scariest attire, as there will be a costume party and contest. DJ, drinks, food and an all-around fun party atmosphere provided.

6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Monday, Oct 31 (Halloween)
University Grill—Fireside Rooms—River Crossing Apartments
-A spooky event for students, community members and children. Kids and adults alike can play carnival style games and do fun Halloween activities and win prizes. There will also be two haunted houses, one for the little ones, and a scarier one for the braver souls out there. Children are also encouraged to take their parents trick-or-treating at the River Crossing Apartments to get some candy in a safe environment. Be sure to bring your little munchkins, and make sure that they’re all dressed up.

7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov 1
Student Activities Center 225
-Titan Productions is putting on a Murder Mystery Party with an 80s high school reunion theme. Yes, you are required to wear an awesome 80s ensemble. Each attendee is assigned a character persona. Once the party commences, a faux murder will transpire and it is up to the guests to solve the crime. What a fun and interactive way to spend the evening! Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served throughout these events.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov 2
-Banner Making! Open to all clubs, programs, departments, groups, etc. Supplies will be provided for everyone, so come on down to Fireside and make a banner that represents you and your group. Banners will be hung in the SAC along the Basketball and Volleyball courts for all to see during the games—a great way to promote yourselves.

5 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 2

-Students and Faculty gear up to do battle on the Volleyball court. The Young and Agile vs. The Old and Decrepit. Let’s not kick their asses too bad… or let’s.

Let’s get out our school spirit and go enjoy a week of fun activities. All events are free for all students and guests, but be sure that everyone brings an ID.
