A recent IU South Bend alumnus posted on Facebook Friday that he would seek the Indiana state representative District 7 seat this year.
Justin Chupp was the president of the IU South Bend Student Government Association (SGA) in 2014 and 2015. Before that, he was a member of the SGA senate.
“I am very excited to announce I have officially declared my candidacy for Indiana State Representative District 7,” Chupp posted on his Facebook profile.
Indiana General Assembly District 7 includes much of the rural land south of South Bend in Saint Joseph County.
