An early spring break came knocking for IUSB Photography League members who traveled to New Orleans, LA. by way of plane, train and automobiles to hear from various artists and photographers from around the nation at the 52nd annual conference.

The conference focus this year was “Atmospheres: Climate, Equity and Community in Photography.”

A few of this year’s conference speakers were, Julieanne Kost who lectured on Adobe products, such as Lightroom, and Chris Jordan who spoke about, “Atmospheres of Mind/Heart: Facing the Realities of our time.”

This year’s conference was held at the grand and contemporary Hyatt Regency in downtown New Orleans. The weather was rainy but it didn’t stop conference-goers, hungry for more education and experience.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the conference were all busy with various events. These ranged from meetings and lectures to the SPE film festival as well as the highly anticipated portfolio reviews and critiques.

Attendees were also able to visit the exhibit fair where various vendors were showcasing their products and services.

In addition to these opportunities, SPE goers could also view the artist pin up showcase, participate in the silent auction and attend career-mentoring sessions, as well as view live demonstrations and panel discussions.
