Are you looking for internship opportunities or career options? The Criminal Justice Career and Internship Fair is here and ready to help students explore options and career opportunities.

The Criminal Justice Career and Internship Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 6 in the University Grill on IU South Bend’s campus. There will be pizza provided for all students at 12:00 p.m. in Fireside A.

All students are welcome to attend this event. Organizers encourage criminology, social work, sociology, woman and gender studies majors to be present. Students are urged to bring a resume and dress business casual.

There will be over 25 agencies available, each with different career options and opportunities. Many of the agencies will be promoting job openings and internships.

“Last year, there was a number of students and interns that were hired,” said Dr. Jennifer Colanese, the acting assistant professor for the criminal justice department.

The 2015 Criminal Justice Career and Internship Fair is the department’s largest event yet. There will be three agencies attending this event for the first time, including the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency), the Indiana Conservation Agency and the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Other agencies that will be present include the South Bend Fire Department, Indianapolis Metro Police Department, Indiana State Police, the Juvenile Justice Center, Elkhart County Sherriff’s Department and Reading for Life

President of the Criminal Justice Club Danielle Cagle encourages students to attend this event to start networking with various agencies that students may be interested in.

“I was able to introduce myself and have contact with professionals in my career field and I hope to see some of them back this year so I can continue to build a networking relationship with them,” said Cagle.

Questions regarding the Criminal Justice Career and Internship Fair or the Criminal Justice Club can be sent to Danielle Cagle at dcagle@iu.edu.
