Many IU South Bend musicians are busy rehearsing for their upcoming features in the Rodgers and Hammerstein show at the Morris Performing Arts Center.
At 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, the South Bend Youth Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Tsung Yeh are presenting an evening of Broadway hits by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The program will feature the South Bend Symphonic Choir, the IU South Bend Chorale and the IU South Bend Gospel Choir, and will include hit songs from Broadway musicals “The Sound of Music” and “Oklahoma!”
Tickets are now on sale at the Morris Box Office, by phone at 574-235-9190 or 800-537-6415 and online at MorrisCenter.org. Student tickets are only $8 with student I.D., and adult tickets start at $18.
This week in the School of the Arts will also feature the New Perspectives, New Technology Exhibition in the Art Gallery located in the Education and Arts building. The exhibition lasts from Monday, Feb. 16 through Saturday, March 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Come experience intercontinental artists presenting computer interactive, video, installation, print and 3-D work in which they’ve explored new ways of seeing the media.
