Hello everyone! My name is Ashley, and I am a mass communication major with a concentration in public relations and a minor in business. This is my first and last semester writing with the Preface, as I will be graduating in May. By the way, I’m really bad at writing leads so most of you probably stopped reading at “Hello everyone.”
For those of you who decided to keep reading here is additional information about me.
I never thought I would get involved with campus life here at IUSB. During welcome back week, I would deliberately walk through the parking lot to avoid all those tables. Ironically, as I am getting ready to graduate, this has become the biggest regret of my college career.
My job at The Preface has forced me to do something that comes completely unnaturally to me. I have to walk up to strangers and talk to them! It turns out talking to people isn’t that bad. Who knew?
I have become the intern queen this past year, taking on three back-to-back. These have opened my eyes to all the great things we have in our community. For the 98% of you who just rolled your eyes, visit some shops and restaurants downtown, take a trip down memory lane and visit the Potawatomi Zoo in the spring, and go see a local band play. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
As you can tell, I don’t really like to talk about myself hence the PR degree. So, if you still want more information about me here it goes. I have two babies (dogs) named Bailey and Norman who mean the world to me, my favorite thing to do is to take weekend road trips to concerts in Chicago, Grand Rapids and Indy, and growing up I was obsessed with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), especially Donatello!
If you see me out and about on campus or in the community don’t be afraid to say hi! If you want to get in contact with me, I can be reached through The Preface.
