A multitude of students and faculty were in attendance for the Make A Wish With the Chancellor event on Tuesday evening.

Everyone was in attendance to light their own Chinese lantern and make their own personal wishes. Students donated $2 to the Chancellor’s Fund in order to receive a lantern. Staff and friends donated $10.

The weather was perfect to see the red and white lanterns rise high into the sky.

The lanterns are biodegradable, making them earth-friendly, and the entire event was approved by the fire department.

Many students wished for a good semester, success at school or more involvement by students on campus.

Joshua Olsen wished “that the Chancellor has a strong impact on campus, and that we will have a strong impact on him.”

The Chancellor’s wish?

“I wished that every student is successful here at IU South Bend,” he said.
