Entertainment calendar: Activities around South Bend

Reggae Night
Live Reggae Bands

On Saturday, Sept. 28, there will be a reggae night at the St. Joe County 4-H Fairgrounds. This event is held every last Saturday of the month and is promoted by The Annual South Bend Reggae Festival. The festival begins at 9 p.m. and is $5 for students and $7 for the general public. Patrons must be 21 or older. For more information call 574-307-0183.

 

The Best of Everything
Man Men Themed Theatre Play

Rona Jaffe’s book “The Best of Everything” shocked readers in 1958, focusing on the lives of four women as they make their way in an era of secretarial pools, sexual harassment and cocktails at five. The play will be performed at Studio 217 in South Bend and is open to those 18 and up. For more information call 574-807-0108.

 

The DJ Grind Emcee Dusty Show
Lights and Laser show

There will be live DJs and dancing at Smith’s Downtown Tap & Grill on Saturday, Sept. 28, beginning at 10 p.m. There is a new VIP area available for reservation for any occasion. The kitchen is open until 2:30 a.m. There is a $5 cover charge and ladies are free until 11 p.m.

 

Fall Exhibition Public Reception

Jaime Guerrero Set to Speak

There will be a public reception on Sunday, Sept. 29, at The Snite Museum of Art in South Bend to celebrate the new fall exhibitions and the reinstallation of the 18th and 19th century galleries. This event is open and free to the public and is from 2 to 4 p.m. For more information call 574-631-5466.
