For lovers of ghosts, ghouls, and monsters The Niles Haunted House Scream Park is opening for the season on Friday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. There are three haunted houses, a haunted hayride, the field of screams and many more activities and attractions. Academic Majors Fair
Are you unsure on deciding on a major? This event may be for you
The Academic Majors Fair is an event for students still undecided on a major or just wanting more information on different opportunities. There will be faculty from a variety of majors available to students providing the information they need to make the right decision on their major. The fair will be held in the Student Activities Center on the IU South Bend campus on Friday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. The event is free for all IUSB students, for more information visit email sbcareer@iusb.edu.
Biennial 27
A window into contemporary art in the Midwest
The South Bend Museum of Art’s all media Biennial 27 is hosting a contemporary art exhibition including only artists from the Midwest. Eleven Midwestern artists were chosen by Lisa D. Freiman, Senior Curator and Chair of the Department of Contemporary Art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art to exhibit their contemporary art. There were only a selected few people chosen in order for the artists to show a greater body of work. The event will be on Friday, Sept. 13 between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. for more information call 574-235-9102.
Merriman’s Playhouse
Chicago’s Whirlpool performing
The jazz music ensemble Whirlpool will be performing on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Merriman’s Playhouse. The Chicago based trio uses simple melodies and collective improvisation in their music. Merriman’s Playhouse is located at 1211 Mishawaka Avenue in South Bend. Students showing ID can purchase tickets for $5 but seating is limited.
