The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference quarterfinals tournament was held last week, with Titan men’s basketball playing Olivet Nazarene on Feb. 25 in the SAC and women’s basketball playing at the University of St. Francis on Feb. 26.
Both teams lost in the first round, with the men’s score ending at a close 73-75. The team was neck and neck with the Olivet Tigers all game, ending in mirroringstats. The score came down to 73-74, the Tigers leading with only a minute to go, and they were able to secure an offensive rebound, making the Titans foul.
The women’s team was able to hold a slim lead at the end of the first quarter, 18-17, but the Saints fought back in the second quarter, heading into halftime 36-27. The Titans couldn’t catch back up after the half, and the Saints gained a 26-point lead.
Senior Jazmen Watts ended the game with a game-high score of 20 points and six boards.
