My name is Michael Salisbury. Yes, just like the steak. My role at The Preface is the website manager. I attended IU South Bend in 2012 after I graduated high school, but wasn’t ready for college life, so I dropped out and traveled the country. After traveling around the country for eight years after I turned 20, I decided to pursue getting a degree again in Integrated New Media Studies with a focus in music.
I’ve been writing music since I was 14, so after never getting the opportunity to record my music, I decided that instead of paying someone too much money to make it sound good, I would pay to learn how to do all of it myself.
As a native to the South Bend-Elkhart area, I always found comfort in returning home year after year to my friends and family after wandering around the country by hitchhiking, driving, taking buses or trains – whatever I could do to get where I wanted to go. I want to inspire people to go out and live their dreams and let them know that it’s never too late to chase your dreams, and it’s always okay to take your time and live your life like I did, because I wouldn’t change my experience for the world.
